Hi,
Jades are succulents and store water. They tolerate drying out very well. I have some Jades and they get watered almost every day with my bonsai. But mine are growing in sphagnum moss, which has different water holding properties than soil. If in soil, I would think you could stretch out the watering schedule. I would advise to have good drainage and don’t let the bottom of the pot sit in water.

what is unique about a bonsai pot and not a regular pot and why does it have holes in it. Also why is ‘bonsai soil!’ needed? Whats wrong with natural ground soil?!

Would it not be easier to just use a large piece of screen cut to fit the bottom of the pot instead of using two screens and all that wire?

Spacepainter, can you please update your video to see how the health of your juniper pre bonsai is getting on, just to show people that it’s still a live and well, if it was not for people like spacepainter who take the time to make these videos for our enjoyment, alot of you would never have a clue how it is possible to make a pre bonsai out a garden centre shrub. Don’t criticise people trying to show an art that has been kept very secret for many years, where else would you learn this for free
